A Charitable Mission For Cartwright King

Print this page

Leading Midlands law firm Cartwright King which has offices in Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield has produced a special 2010 charity calendar featuring humorous pictures of various members of staff in fancy dress depicting the areas of the law in which the firm specialises and themes for the locations of their offices.

Each month shows scenes including a business woman tied up in red tape representing their business defence department, and a toy car being driven through the office for their motoring defence department. Scenes for each office location include one of Cartwright King’s partners dressed up as a Tiger outside Leicester Tiger’s ground, members of staff dressed up as Robin Hood and Maid Marian, scaling the peaks and dressed up as a pirate and brandishing a large knife and fork.

The calendar has been produced as part of the annual Vantis corporate challenge which aims to raise money for two local charities, LOROS, which cares for terminally ill patients and their families in Leicestershire and Rutland, and Rainbows children’s hospice which provides respite and palliative care for children and their families in the East Midlands.

The challenge runs over three months and Cartwright King is one of 78 local businesses (in Leicestershire) who competed against each other to turn an initial £50 investment into as much profit as possible. The firm succeeded in raising over £1,500 from their calendars and also picked up 2nd prize in the ‘most innovative idea’ category. This year, so far over £78,000 has been raised in the challenge.

Imogen Cox, partner at the Leicester office of Cartwright King said “The Vantis corporate challenge is a great initiative to be involved in. We had a great time producing the calendar. We are aiming to sell as many as possible, and hope that we can raise as much money as possible for the worthwhile charities. The great thing about our calendar is that it can continue to be sold until the end of the year which means we are still raising money for LOROS and Rainbows even though the challenge has officially come to an end.”
