Leading Midlands niche criminal and business defence specialist Cartwright King now has another qualified solicitor within the firm. Zoe Lee has recently qualified, after a long route to get there. After graduating from De Montfort University in 2000 with a Business and Law degree, she then opted to take two years out to go travelling and live in Japan. On her return she completed a Graduate Diploma in Law before starting the Legal Practice Course in 2005. Zoe completed this via distance learning, whilst working full time and expecting her first child. Zoe joined Cartwright King in 2007 as a paralegal, then began a training contract in 2008 and has now successfully qualified as a solicitor. Zoe said “I am so pleased to have finally reached my goal- it may not have been the traditional route but all the hard work has been worth it. I look forward to becoming a duty solicitor in the coming months, which will enable me to represent clients in court when they have not arranged for their own solicitor. I also aim to become mental health accredited as well, so I will be able to represent clients at tribunal hearings. I am really enjoying representing general crime clients as well as mental health cases. It is all valuable experience.” Michael Thurston, managing director said “I am delighted with Zoe’s qualification as a solicitor. As a firm we support our trainees and are keen to invest in the future of the firm. I am sure she will continue to succeed in her career and be a valuable asset to our crime and mental health teams.”
