Leading Midlands law firm Cartwright King is celebrating its tenth
anniversary.
Established in January 2000, when a team of 3 partners and 12 staff headed
by Michael Thurston led a friendly demerger from leading Midlands law firm Freeth
Cartwright to set up a criminal defence practice in a small office in Nottingham.
The firm has now grown both organically and by acquisition so that a decade on,
there are now 110 members of staff, including 20 directors, spanning five offices
in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Sheffield and Birmingham.
The firm now specialises in criminal and business defence, immigration,
motoring law, mental health and professional discipline. Top ranked in the East Midlands for both
criminal and business defence by both Chambers UK and Legal 500, a number of
their directors have also been specifically recognised for outstanding work in
their areas.
Michael Thurston, managing director said: “It is really rewarding to see
how much the firm has grown over the past ten years. When we formed Cartwright King I had always intended that we
would venture into different areas of the law and be successful, and that is
just what we have done. I think
all members of staff should be proud of what we have achieved and look forward
to developing the practice further.”
