Leading East Midlands criminal and business defence law firm Cartwright King, which has offices in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Sheffield and Birmingham, has again been highly rated in its specialist niche fields in the recently published Chambers UK Guide, which independently researches and ranks the UK’s legal profession.

Ranked number one in the East Midlands for criminal defence, three of the firm’s directors; Steve Gelsthorpe, Simon Chaplin and Jill Hawkins were also praised for their individual contributions to the field.

For business defence, Mark Wilson was recognised nationally as being one of the key leaders in the areas of tax and fraud. Mark was also ranked highly in the area of criminal fraud, along with Lynn Bleakley and Andrew Brammer.

Other areas the firm has been rated highly in are Environmental law, ranked the second highest in the Midlands, with high ratings for Lynn Bleakley and Andrew Brammer for their work in this area. For police law, they have been ranked highly nationally, ahead of many of their competitors in the Midlands.

Michael Thurston, managing director of Cartwright King said “We are delighted to have been rated so highly by the 2010 edition of Chambers UK Guide. It echoes what Legal 500 published recently and serves to reinforce our position as the leading Midlands firm for criminal and business defence. “
