| Leading midlands business and criminal defence specialists Cartwright King has further expanded its business defence team of its Sheffield office with three new appointments to meet the growing demand for its fraud and regulatory services.
Three specialist lawyers, John Davies, Bonita Dines and Carmel Gleed, have joined Cartwright King from other national and regional firms. They will work alongside senior associate Dan Stowers and senior solicitor Blake Woodfield, who joined Cartwright King from international law firm DLA Piper twelve months ago to set up the Sheffield office.
The firm, which also has offices in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, has one of the largest business defence teams in the region and enjoys a national reputation.
The business defence team of more than 25 expert lawyers is headed by partner Mark Wilson. They look after the needs of individuals and businesses facing fraud and tax investigations. These vary from small to large corporates and cross a variety of industry sectors, including regulatory cases, covering health & safety, environmental and trading standards.
“Our growing niche business defence practice has become one of the largest of its type both nationally and regionally, looking after the needs of an increasing client base,” said Mark Wilson. “This expansion enables us to meet the growing demand for our services in South Yorkshire as well as the Midlands, and reflects our confidence in the future as well as the abilities of our highly regarded members of staff.”
Cartwright King is top ranked in each of the main independent guides, Legal 500 and Chambers Directory, for business and criminal defence, and is also a member of the criminal VHCC panel for fraud, being accredited by the Legal Services Commission to undertake the largest, most complex cases.
