| Laura Pinkney, a business defence solicitor from leading Nottingham criminal and business defence firm, Cartwright King, has been elected onto the committee of a new legal group, the Junior Lawyers Division (JLD). The JLD replaces the Nottinghamshire Trainee Solicitors and Young Solicitors Groups.
Laura will be the local law society representative for the Nottinghamshire JLD and her role will involve establishing greater links with the Nottinghamshire Law Society, keeping both groups aware of what the other can offer.
The JLD is a division of the law society which represents all student members of the Law Society enrolled through the Solicitors Regulation Authority, trainees, and solicitors with up to five years' active post-qualification expertise. It was set up as a specific group within the Law Society to provide junior lawyers with support, advice, information and networking opportunities. They also represent their views through lobbying and campaigns both internationally and in the UK.
“I am looking forward to my new role within the JLD,” said Laura. “I qualified as a solicitor in March this year, and as Cartwright King is always keen to promote young talent, I understand the issues facing junior lawyers,”
