Trainee Solicitor Qualifies In Style

Print this page

Adam Barnes, a newly qualified solicitor in the business defence team of solicitors Cartwright King, celebrated his achievement in an unusual way by cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats.

Adam, who has worked for Cartwright King for three years, set off on his 1000 mile adventure in October with his brother Chris and completed the ride in 16 days, well within his three weeks target. He also exceeded his fundraising goal of £1,600 and has raised over £2,000 for the British Red Cross.

“I wanted to do something different to celebrate my qualifying, and as my brother and I both wanted to do something to aid the situation in Darfur where the Red Cross have been operating for the last four years, this seemed like the perfect opportunity” said Adam. “We chose the Red Cross as they have helped hundred of thousands of people living in refugee camps in Sudan who lost their homes and livelihoods.”

“I don’t have an awful lot of experience of long distance bike riding, but it is a fantastic cause and I really wanted to challenge myself” said Adam. “I am looking now looking forward to career at Cartwright King.”
